Memorandum and Articles of Association of Scoil Éanna. The booklet contains manuscript additions of names, addresses and descriptions of subscribers including ‘Patrick H. Pearse, St. Enda’s College, Rathfarnham, barrister-at-law, William Pearse, St. Enda’s College, Rathfarnham, sculptor’, and ‘Thomas MacDonagh, 32 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin, tutor’. Two sets of signatures with one noting the number of shares taken by each subscriber. The signatures are dated 2 January 1912. The objective of the memorandum is ‘to acquire and take over the Colleges, known as Scoil Éanna and Scoil Ide, now carried on at Rathfarnham, in the County of Dublin, and at Cullenswood Avenue, County of Dublin, with the goodwill of Mr. P.H. Pearse therein …’.

Memorandum of agreement between Patrick Pearse, St. Enda’s School, Rathfarnham, Dublin, and Deborah Alexander Wright, 11 Brighton Road, Terenure, Dublin, re the letting by the former of a portion of the garden at Cullenswood House, Oakley Road, Rathmines, Dublin. The rent payable is £4 2s 6d per quarter. The memorandum appears to be in Pearse’s hand and is signed by him.

Memorandum of Ambulance Work & Efforts for Peace during the Civil War

‘Memorandum of Ambulance work & efforts for peace’ by J.P. Homan, Vernon Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin. The memorandum refers to his work with St. John’s Ambulance during the Civil War hostilities in Dublin in June and July 1922. Specific mention is made of Homan’s interactions with Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap. and the friar’s efforts to secure a cessation of the fighting. Includes a short clipping of an obituary for J.P. Homan (‘Irish Independent’, 6 Aug. 1944). (Volume pages 79-87).

Menu card for a Unionist Banquet held in The Rotunda, Dublin, on 26 January 1893. The event was held to honour several Unionists MPs. The politicians were Horace Plunkett (1854-1932), the Irish Unionist Alliance MP for South Dublin from 1892 to 1900. Hugh Oakeley Arnold-Forster (1855-1909), the Liberal Unionist MP for West Belfast from 1892 to 1906. Richard Martin Dane (1852-1903), MP for North Fermanagh from 1892 to 1898. William Kenny QC (1846-1921), MP for St. Stephen’s Green (Dublin) from 1892 to 1898, and John Ross QC (1853-1935), MP for Londonderry city from 1892 to 1895.
