A carte de visite of Fr. Michael O’Hickey and his aunt. The print is credited to Poole, photographer, 34 Mall, Waterford. A manuscript annotation on the reverse reads ‘Wishing Uncle Maurice & Ellie all the joys and blessings of the Holy Xmas season / M.P.H / 1894’. A later annotation reads ‘Mrs O’Brien, aunt of Dr. O’Hickey’.

Fragmentary Notes re James Joseph O’Kelly

Fragmentary notes seemingly compiled by James Joseph O’Kelly (1842-1916). One of the notes opens with ‘The glad news of the release of the prisoners had hardly reached here …’. Other notes contain addresses ‘Mr. Martin Lynch, Kilmore Lock, Ballinasloe, County Galway’ and ‘Mr William Duffield, Society Street, Ballinasloe, County Galway’ with references to them being notified of the ‘departure of goods’.

A clipping of a short article reporting on the funeral of Mary Brigid Pearse (1884-1947) at the Church of Annunciation in Rathfarnham, Dublin. The clipping is taken from the ‘Irish Press’ (17 Nov. 1947). The article reads 'The President, Taoiseach and members of the Government were among those who attended the funeral of Miss Mary Brigid Pearse, which took place to Glasnevin Cemetery on Saturday, after Mass in the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Mallin, S.J., son of the executed 1916 leader, and a former pupil of St. Enda's'.
