-2 September 1955 On 3 October 1947 the Department of Defence sought tenders from construction companies for the re-pointing of the water tower in the Curragh Camp. Desmond Hunter’s tender was accepted. In January 1948 Hunter sought to change the Specification and an increase for the work. The Department would not accept this, Hunter discontinued the work in June 1948, and in accordance with the Conditions of Contract notice was served on him determining the contract.
