              Report on the Rev. Armstrong, Church of Ireland Rector, Howth. In C. of I. circles has the reputation of being a good churchman. Is a leading member of the Irish Anti-War Crusade and a pacifist with Communist leanings. His views not supported by his congregation. Saw Jesus as first pacifist and Church should follow his example. Several parishioners have refused to attend his services as a protest to his visit to Warsaw.

              Signed ‘Howth Housewife’. The Parish Priest in Howth wants to renovate the church, which she feels is unnecessary. Many middle class parishioners cannot afford to contribute. Asks the Archbishop to look into it.

              Short typed biography on the family of Dr. Conor Cruise O’Brien. Has two children, two of whom are at school in Newtown, Waterford, and two in Rathgar. Neither school is Catholic. Children are not being taught formal religion as they are allowed to make up their own minds when they come to age. Wife is living in Howth.
