              Letter from +O’Hara to +McQuaid in relation to the Legion of Mary. The Holy See is becoming more interested in their work and is anxious to see if something could be done to help develop this form of Lay Apostolate.               1- 4 March 1958 Correspondence between +McQuaid and +Levame in relation to five Hungarian men who founded a Conference of St. Vincent de Paul in Hungary before 1948. They wished to transform this into a new Religious Congregation which was disapproved by both Cardinal Mindszenty and the Holy See. These men have since fled to various parts of the world and two of them are being sought by the Italian authorities for obtaining money under false pretences from kind hearted Catholics. They are currently supposed to be in Lisbon, going under the names Brothers Egidius and Nicholas. He believes they may try to visit Ireland and all should be warned of their deception. +McQuaid states that they have not yet been to Ireland and believes the Department for External Affairs could be advised to refuse them a visa.

              Copy letter from +McQuaid to Mgr. Felici regarding Brendan O’Carroll. He states the not all the facts have been provided by Mr. O’Carroll. The property is not owned by the Loreto Community and the matter has been in the Courts twice and is now sub judice in the High Court. He states O’Carroll has also appealed to the Holy See. He feels it best not to intervene once Civil Law has been invoked.
