Letter from +O’Hara to +McQuaid in relation to the Legion of Mary. The Holy See is becoming more interested in their work and is anxious to see if something could be done to help develop this form of Lay Apostolate. Before doing anything, they would like to have the views of the Irish Hierarchy.

Letter from Mgr. Benelli to Fr. Browne of Archbishop’s House, thanking him for the report on the Dublin Matrimonial Tribunal for the year 1952 which will be forwarded to the Holy See.

Letter from +Levame to +McQuaid acknowledging a cheque for £7000 representing the Peter’s Pence collection taken up in Dublin. This will be forwarded to the Holy See without delay.

1- 4 March 1958 Correspondence between +McQuaid and +Levame in relation to five Hungarian men who founded a Conference of St. Vincent de Paul in Hungary before 1948. They wished to transform this into a new Religious Congregation which was disapproved by both Cardinal Mindszenty and the Holy See. These men have since fled to various parts of the world and two of them are being sought by the Italian authorities for obtaining money under false pretences from kind hearted Catholics. They are currently supposed to be in Lisbon, going under the names Brothers Egidius and Nicholas. He believes they may try to visit Ireland and all should be warned of their deception. +McQuaid states that they have not yet been to Ireland and believes the Department for External Affairs could be advised to refuse them a visa.

Copy letter from +McQuaid to +Robinson thanking him for his help in assisting the Holy See understand the love and devotion of Dublin in regard to the Holy Father. He also is delighted that the Holy Father and Cardinal Maglione appreciate the small contributions that are sent.

Letter from +Robinson to +McQuaid stating that he has received a telegram, in cipher, from Mgr. Montini, thanking the Archbishop for the 8000 mass stipends for the Holy See. The Nuciature offers to send the money for him.

Letter from +Robinson to +McQuaid thanking him for the cheque for £234, which covers the taxes due in relation to the appointments by the Holy See to the three reserved parishes and the three vacancies in the Chapter. The money will be forwarded to the Dataria Apostolica.

Letter from Mgr. Felici to McQuaid acknowledging his cheque for £15 in respect of taxae due to the Holy See.

Copy letter from +McQuaid to Mgr. Felici regarding Brendan O’Carroll. He states the not all the facts have been provided by Mr. O’Carroll. The property is not owned by the Loreto Community and the matter has been in the Courts twice and is now sub judice in the High Court. He states O’Carroll has also appealed to the Holy See. He feels it best not to intervene once Civil Law has been invoked.

Copy letter from +McQuaid to +McGeough in relation to the honour to be bestowed on Rev. Moloney. He has no objection to the honour as long as the Holy See is happy with it.
