Jordana- her importance for Catholic Education requires her exemption from election to other post- later, Archbishop's annoyance at proposal to transfer her to Belfast in view of her crucial appointment regarding education in Dublin; novitiate transfers from Kerdiffstown to St. Dominic's , Merrion Ave.; a sister transfers to contemplative convent in Drogheda; Taylor's Hill convent in Galway seeks to join Cabra congregation.

Letter from +Sensi to +McQuaid stating that the 27th International Conference on Public Instruction will be held in Geneva in July. Ireland will be represented by Mr. P. Mac Eoin, Assistant Secretary for Post Primary Education, Department of Education. He asks the Archbishop to have a word with the delegate to ensure his co- operation with the delegation from the Holy See. He encloses a summary of the arguments before the Conference.

Letter from +Alibrandi to +McQuaid discussing the 25th Anniversary of the episcopal ordination of Most Reverend Patrick Dunne which is due to take place on 11th October. He would like an account of the activities undertaken by the Bishop during these years which can be sent to the Holy See to facilitate the compilation of a congratulatory letter.

Letter from Mgr. Gerada to +McQuaid stating that the Secretary General of the United Nations has asked for the Holy See’s cooperation in the World Refugee Year. He is asked to draw the attention of the faithful to the difficult situations faced by refugees, to their spiritual and material needs and the necessary cooperation that will ensure a good outcome. He asks that any information given in the Diocese on this subject should be sent to the Secretariat of State.

Typed letter to +McQuaid informing him that the accompanying packet arrived in the diplomatic bag from the Holy See.

Letter from +Gerald O’Hara to +McQuaid regarding the appointment of priests to form part of an International Secretariat for the ‘Apostolate of the Sea’ by the Sacred Consistorial Congregation. Their duty will be to maintain contact with the various branches of the Apostolate of the Sea. The Irish Hierarchy are asked to appoint a priest and a brief biography is to be sent to the Holy See.
