              Copy of typed letter to + Browne, Galway, from +McQuaid. He has had meetings with the Taoiseach, the Tanaiste, the Minister for Justice and the Attorney-General. The possibility of the Mother and Child proposals being accepted by the Cabinet and implemented, as they exist in the Draft, is not even to be considered.

              Handwritten letter to +McQuaid from Sean MacBride. He spoke ex-tempore in Galway and had no script. He feels the evolution of a civilization based on materialism and scientific development will be disastrous unless a sense of moral and ethical responsibility can be inculcated in these people. This can only be done through education. This will rest largely with the Church.
