              Typed draft agreed on at General Meeting regarding the Health Act: Mother & Child Service. The Hierarchy cannot approve of any scheme which must foster the undue control of the State in a sphere concerned with morals as that which deals with gynecology or obstetrics and with relations between doctor and patient. The Hierarchy outline seven points opposed to Catholic social teaching in this scheme.

              The lecture is being promoted by one of the Dublin Conferences in order to foster devotion to a Saint and at the same time to raise sorely needed funds. Any objection would inevitably cut across the charitable work of the Conference.
