              Typed note. Possibility De Valera will retire from public life and Lemass will probably succeed. In CIE Riordan got 134 votes in election representative to the Management. Its not that the men want him but they feel he is able to push their case for them.

              Typed draft agreed on at General Meeting regarding the Health Act: Mother & Child Service. The Hierarchy cannot approve of any scheme which must foster the undue control of the State in a sphere concerned with morals as that which deals with gynecology or obstetrics and with relations between doctor and patient. The Hierarchy outline seven points opposed to Catholic social teaching in this scheme.
