Typed letter to +McQuaid from Sean Flanagan, Office of the Minister for Health. The Society of Friends, the Church of Ireland and the Methodist Church have requested a change in the law about special licences so as to provide that one of the parties to the marriage need be of the same religion as the person issuing the special licence.
Will instruct his agent, Mr. Millet, to allow Fr. Flanaqan the extra land he requires to build a school and dwelling house, as well as the chapel, in Boherlahan parish.
He has consulted with his agent, Mr. Millat, on the problem of providing sufficient land in the parish of Boherlahan for a Chapel, school and dwelling-house for priest; his agent has already qiven the half-acre near the Chapel to a poor man, and it will now be necessary to accomodate this latter person elsewhere, before finalising Fr. Flanagan's problem.
