Annotated on reverse: ‘Miss Josephine Philomena Mariam Pillai of the Good Shepherd Convent, Kotahena, on the day of her first holy communion. The Good Shepherd Nuns are in charge of several Catholic convents on the island and do immense good to Ceylonese Catholic children’.
