              Copy of a typed letter to L.J. Duffy, Secretary, Labour Party, from M. Colgan. When invited to give evidence to the Committee he was assured that any evidence given would be treated confidentiality. Is satisfied that the evidence given is irrefutable and the Committee must accept it as authentic. Will not attend meeting. Reminds Committee that the Communist Party is a secret, underground party that resorts to subterfuge.

              Handwritten minutes of ‘V’ Committee meeting. John Galhen, Secretary, British Communist Party, was invited to speak at the Trinity debate but was unable to attend. He was replaced by Bill Garritt. Shirley Armstrong and Sal Duffy elected to the new Fencing Committee. The group frequently goes abroad, including to Iron Curtain countries. Worth watching them. Sean O’Rourke, Lily O’Rourke and Geoffrey Palmer visited Moscow for the May Day Parade. Cutting taken from The Irish Times, 3 May.
