Letter from +Robinson to +McQuaid forwarding to him the Apostolic Bulls promoting Mgr. Dunne to be Treasurer of the Chapter of Dublin and nominating Canon Dargan to be Parish Priest of Rathgar. Also discusses taxes due to the Dataria.
Copy letter from +McQuaid to + Robinson enclosing a cheque for £100 which he has received from Canon Dargan, new Parish Priest of Rathgar. This money is the Taxa due to the Dataria.
Note. Rev. F. Tarpey phoned to say that he had seen Master Frank Woods who said he was employed as a secret agent by the police. His task was to discover information on Communist activities in Dublin. Parents knew nothing about it but knew he had money. Fr. Tarpey contacted Sergeant Boyle whose job is to keep track of Communist activities. Boyle said Woods was in the Communists before he employed him at 10/- a week. Fr. Tarpey forbade the boy to go to sacraments until the matter is straightened out. Mgr. Dargan dealing with it. 548/1. Note on Jeffares in + McQuaid’s handwriting.
