              Handwritten report from “Grandmother”. Anthony Coughlan was sub- editor of The Daily Worker and The Irish Democrat in England. Prime mover in the Connolly Club. In May 1961 met Michael O’Leary, Justin Keating, Igo, Frank Edwards, Miss Simms. O’Leary has been picked to stand for Labour in South Central Constituency.

              Handwritten note stating that Michael O’Leary had contact with Anthony Coughlan, lecturer in TCD. Coughlan is a well known writer and worker for Communist papers in Britain. Coughlan said it would be dangerous to become known as a sympathiser until he became established. American Embassy wanted information on Status of Women in Ireland. Mr. Coffey, External Affairs, sent them to Lucy Kingston. “Lucy is as red as they come.”
