              Copy letter from +McQuaid to +O’Hara stating that he has heard that the Nuncio is celebrating his Silver Jubilee of Episcopal Consecration but wishes that it go unnoticed. The Archbishop extends his congratulations and wishes his continued success.

              Letter from +McQuaid to +O’Hara stating that Ireland was solemnly consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Passion Sunday, 13 March 1873, a fact which is commemorated by exposition in all churches in Dublin each Passion Sunday, with a renewal of the consecration. On 15 March 1943, a resolution was passed by the Irish Bishops that every parish and diocese in Ireland was consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

              Letter from +O’Hara to +McQuaid thanking him for the information on the solemn consecration of Ireland to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He will forward this information to the Canadian Hierarchy. He states that Mgr. Moylan and himself went in the car of the Nuncio of Vienna to within 29 miles of the Iron Curtain but they did not approach any closer. He describes it as a strenuous trip.
