Letter from Fr. Sean Gordon to +McQuaid stating his consecration will take place in Rome on 24th June. Cardinal Cicognani will be the consecrating Bishop, with Archbishop Sigismondi acting as first Co-Consecrator. He feels it would not be proper to ask +McQuaid to be the 2nd Co- Consecrator so he has instead asked the Bishop of Nara. He does hope that +McQuaid will be present on the day.

Letter from +Sean Gordon, Apostolic Delegation of Thailand, and the Malay Peninsula to +McQuaid, wishing him both a Happy Christmas and acknowledging the anniversary of his consecration. He mentions that he was sorry to have missed this year’s session of the Council owing to the Secretary of the Delegation having to prolong his visit to Italy by two months. There is mention of the possible visit by the Pope to the Philippines the following year. It would mean his plane would have to touch down in Bangkok and this would create problems as many Catholics would flock to see him. He wishes him the very best for the following year.
