The following items are mentioned in the report: the inaugural meeting of Trinity College Historical Society which was addressed by Clement Attlee, leader of the British Labour Party. At a IWL meeting George Jeffares spoke of the disillusionment in West Germany with the Western Powers’ muddled policy, German unification, disarmament and increased trade and cultural exchanges between East and West, industrialization of China, and the West’s attitude to Israel and Spain.
