              Details of the mesting of the Bishops of the Munster Province held in Fermoy 6 May and following days; among the regulations is an injunction to the Parisb Priest to keep Baptismal and Marriage Registers, under pain of suspensior;: clergy forbidden to attend Station dinners, to be present at public horse races, publie balls etc. Dr. Michael Slattery has added a note to the effect that these Provincial Regulations were never fully promulgated in the Cashel diocese. Explains the Roman Brief on episcopal elections in Ireland; the English bisheps have requested that the Saturday abstinence be abolished completely, and that only Christmas, the Epiphany and All Saints remain as Holydays of Obligation; the Presentation Sisters have received permission from Rome to take L.ay Sisters into their convents; asks to be remembered to Fr. MoEngroe, who lately returned to the Cashel diocese.

Asks that a Limerick student in the College be allowed to accept a burse from Cashel: the Bulls for the consecration of Dr. Nicholas Foran as bp of Galway, have now been dispatched; it seems certain that Dr. Foran will now accept his appointment; 4 Dr. Coppinger has had a case in Rome against a priest ef his diocese, which is now nearly settled; gives details of the political situation in Rome; Sir Brook Jaylor, the English diplomat is in Rome at present.
