Letter from Fr. G. Byrne to Dr. O’Connell seeking permission from +McQuaid to start a devotion of the Immaculate Medal in Killester Church.

Typed letter to Fr. MacMahon from Una Byrne. Jean and Hildegard Goss-Myar have been asked to attend a public meeting in November organised by the ‘Peace’ association. They may try to get speakers who would give an air of respectability to the meeting.

Typed copy of statement read by Mrs. Una Byrne at a meeting of IHA. As Committee looked upon her with hostility she refused to either deny or admit the accusations. Would consider discussing the matter when the informant was present. She refused to be intimidated by their action. Regarding the Roscommon Herald she was not connected and would be glad to thrash it out in court. Reasons for not signing confession given.

Typed statement from conversation with Una Byrne. She thinks there is a witch-hunt in Fianna Fail against the Knights of Columbanus carried out by the Masons and Senator Hartnett. Thinks there is a link between the IHA, the Fabian Society and the Republican Forum as the same people appear in these societies. She stated that Mrs McAuley is not satisfactory as regards the Adoption Board. She appears to be pursuing the wrong policy and has not paid much attention to the feelings of the adopters or the adopted. Mrs Byrne thinks that the school for Ballybrack parish will become an election issue, but the site is unsanitary and rat infested. Superintendent Boyle told Mrs Byrne that he will not deal with Fr. Crean as he was quoted by him.
