              Handwritten letter to Chris from Fr. J. Kavanagh, Crumlin. Brother Collins, Superior, Colaiste Mhuire, informed him of a 15 year old boy called Brady whom he came across addressing the other boys on the rights of workers. Bro. Collins looked on him as a ‘coming agitator’. A scribbled note on the envelop mentioned W.F. Moorehead, Brady and the Socialist Youth Club.

              Typed report on Fianna Fail Organisation on Dun Laoire-Rathdown. During the past eighteen months there has been an underhand move to hurt Sean Brady T.D. and boost the Booth Bros., Lionel and Basil. Basil started the controversy in County Council on the topic of Scholarships. Matt Cullen pointed out that the minority in the Republic got far more concessions in percentage to their population than the Catholics. Brady blamed by the Booths for letters to the Press disassociating himself and the FF Party from the action of the Booths. Heated debate followed. De Valera met Sean Brady and Councillors from A. Brady threatened to resign from FF if Booth does not apologise. A man called Dolski must be treated with caution. Uneasiness with some members of the Pork Butchers’ Branch of the Workers Union of Ireland (WUI). Larkin wants them to have the same hours as Beef Butchers and has threatened strike even though victory would cause economic problems. No. 37, Pembroke Road reported sold.

              Typed letter to Fr. Diffney. Regarding the education of the Differential Committee (of the Rent Association) the best policy is to let the men think that Fr. Divine is friend of hers (Mrs Byrne). She has asked him to have a chat with the men. Sean Brady met de Valera and made a great impression on him. He told Sean that he is in complete agreement with him. Next thing is to get a third man to replace Booth.

              Handwritten letter to Fr. Martin regarding a play in The Pike called ‘The Rose Tattoo’. Wants the play stopped. Sean Brady has put the matter in the hands of the Dept. of Justice. If theatre manager proceeds the necessary steps will be taken to stop it. Was approached to see if anything could be done with Censorship Board. It is in a bad way since Figgis and Comyn were co-opted on to it.
