Letter from +O’Boyle to +McQuaid. He writes to him in relation to Fr John Cuffe, a Killala priest, whose hearing was severely damaged by a bomb while working in Southwark. He hopes that +McQuaid might allow him minister to the deaf community in Dublin.

Note. Rev. F. Tarpey phoned to say that he had seen Master Frank Woods who said he was employed as a secret agent by the police. His task was to discover information on Communist activities in Dublin. Parents knew nothing about it but knew he had money. Fr. Tarpey contacted Sergeant Boyle whose job is to keep track of Communist activities. Boyle said Woods was in the Communists before he employed him at 10/- a week. Fr. Tarpey forbade the boy to go to sacraments until the matter is straightened out. Mgr. Dargan dealing with it. 548/1. Note on Jeffares in + McQuaid’s handwriting.
