Mark MacDonnell OSFC, regarding negotiations with local banks in Kilkenny over a loan and the reduction of a debt on the Friary. Loughlin also refers to ‘the loss I sustained in the failure of the "contract" of the new church not being carried out’. He also refers to his life and conditions in Australia.

Note
'The Argus', a newspaper published in Melbourne, reported on 25 January 1910 that ‘Mr. Thomas Loughlin, of Killarney, Warrenheip, has presented £100, and promised £150, to the St. Arnaud Roman Catholic Church building fund. He has also authorised Father Doyle to purchase a marble altar when on his visit to Italy in April, and has given Father Doyle mass vestments, benediction cope, and a chalice, which cost £100’.
