Notes regarding Blackrock Property

Handwritten notes relating to Blackrock properties. Mentioned are George Minchin, whose mother was Ellen Potter Minchin, née Burrowes. George received a fifth of the rent of Prospect through his parents and another fifth through Eliza Burrowes, daughter of Reverend John Burrowes. On 14 August 1879, [William] McEvoy had both parts conveyed to him.
There are other notes relating to names of people who held certain fields in Blackrock, such as Robert Byrne, Georgina Mary Byrne, Thomas Ballings and John Burrowes Pilsworth.

Order to demolish Blackrock Buildings

Order from Dun Laoghaire Corporation for the demolition of some buildings at Blackrock. These buildings are at Sweetman’s Avenue, Carroll’s Court and Murray’s Court. There is a schedule attached to the order, which lists many buildings in Blackrock and names their owners and lessees at the time. Most were not owned by the Vincentians. There are four copies of the order and schedule, one addressed to each of four Vincentian trustees of Saint Joseph’s College, Blackrock.

Ownership of Property

Letter from McEvoy to Father Thomas Morrissey CM, giving particulars of ownership of property in a lease dated 11 September 1863 between John Sibthorpe of 29 Upper Leeson Street and Charles Sibthorpe of 36 Upper Leeson Street. The property referred to is three dwelling houses located in Blackrock Cemetery, fronting onto Sweetman Avenue.
