Blessed Charles - Cause;- Informative Process - letter from Rev. T. O'Donnell, Archbishop's Secretary to Gerald O'Boyle enlosing "something" "received a few days ago". Gerald can judge "if it deserves investigation".(N.B., No indication what the enclosure was - probably something to do with a cure!)
Blessed Charles - Cause;- Informative Process - letter from Fr. Brendan Keegan (https://passionistarchives.ie/index.php/fr-brendan-keegan/ ), writing from St. Mary's Convent, Southam, Warrickshire, where he is giving a retreat, to Gerald O'Boyle, who had evidenty asked Fr. Keegan to consult the novitiate archives at Broadway for information on Charles. Unfortunately, those archives are of the smallest dimensions, everything having been parcelled up and sent to The Graan on the transfer of the novitiate there. The "Professed Archives" have yielded no information, nor has the platea which have been carefully written up from the change from Woodchester to Broadway. Very sorry that he has not been able to be of any assistance.
1846034 Bl. Charles Houben, C.P., Cures during his life-time: letter from Mrs. Mary Thomas, 1 Mountpelier Hill, Park Gate, Dublin who "received a very great cure through the Revd. Father Charles a short time before his death".
Blessed Charles - Cause;- Informative Process - letter from Urban Young, Herne Bay, to Gerald O'Boyle. Urban had acted as Vice-Postulator in the cause of Blessed Dominic and he gives some practical advice to Gerald on how to proceed. Mentions that there would be no objection from Rome to Oswald Donnelly publishing his life of Charles while the process was in progress.

Missions and Retreats: Miscellneous Documents newscutting from "Catholic News" (Sout Africa?) entitled "Missions to NonCatholics". Contains a 16 line paragraph (marked in red) in which the approach of a fanous Passionist is held up as the way NOT to do it!!. Fr. Declan O'Sulivan added a note to the original chronological index card as follows: " an educated guess suggests the CP. was Fr. Ignatius Gibney or Fr. Pius Carolan or Fr. Leonard McCabe - most likely, Ignatius Gibney. This "educated guess" of of Declan's would seem to be wide of the mark, as Ignatius died in 1952, Pius in 1930 ans Leonard n 1966, whereas the author, writing in 1928 says the CP was deceased.
