The flier refers to the foundation by Fr. Benvenutus Guy OSFC of St. Joseph’s League which was approved by the Most Rev. William J. Walsh, Archbishop of Dublin, and provides details of its government and organisation. Article 6 notes that ‘members [are] to wear a badge to distinguish them from other boys. By the wearing of this badge they are expected to avoid the company of wicked boys, and to do all in their power to crush vice of every kind, especially evil speaking in those with whom they have to come in contact with’.
Newspaper cuttings book. The front cover has a manuscript title: ‘Valuable paper cuttings referring chiefly to Cork Friary and Church in [the] early eighties of the 19th Century. Collected by Fr. The index notes that there was ‘no contingent from Holy Trinity – Belgian superiors there at the time’. • Report on the Bishop of Cork’s blessing of the bell at Holy Trinity Church. The index notes that ‘the bell is now over the choir and sacristy. When we returned from France [in] 1879 the bell on Holy Trinity was cracked’. • Letter to the 'Tablet', London, regarding the condition of Father Mathew Church, Cork, probably written by Mr. Jerome Murphy, described as ‘a most devoted friend to our community’. • Circular appealing for funds for the completion of the Church of St. Mary of the Angels, Church Street, Dublin. • Report on a temperance demonstration in Cork. 1887. The volume also contains numerous cuttings of advertisements and articles some of which were taken from French newspapers.

Anthony Cooney OSFC of Killaloe at the Friary Church in Kilkenny. Fr. Albert Mitchell OSFC of Dublin, Custos Provincial, received their vows. Fr. Louis Hennessy OSFC, guardian of the Church Street Friary, Dublin, preached at the Mass. Fr. Francis Hayes OSFC ‘being the Guardian of Kilkenny’ was also present. On 21 Sept. 1881 it was noted that six priests were ordained – ‘five of whom were the exiled French Capuchin students, the sixth was Fr. Fidelis Neary OSFC of Freshford’
