An illuminated farewell address to the Reverend Courtenay Moore (1842-1922) from the parishioners of Saint Mary’s Church of Ireland in Castletownroche, County Cork. The address is dated 30 August 1882 and refers to Reverend Moore’s work in restoring the church during his seven years of ministry in the parish.

      Born in Ulster, the Reverend Courtenay Moore served as rector of Brigown Parish, (Mitchelstown) in County Cork, from 1882 to 1916. He was appointed Canon of St. Colman’s Cathedral, Cloyne, in 1882. A nationalist, antiquarian and a prolific writer, he was also editor of ‘The Church of Ireland Gazette’ from 1893 to 1897.
